But Heathers is definitely a more grown-up movie and covers more serious topics (ie. suicide). It's not really a film you can watch with just anyone.
I watched Heathers for the first time at the beginning of this month and I enjoyed it

it was a great dark comedy

Winona gave a great performance

kinda feel like if I watch this movie now I’ll inevitably compare it and find this underwhelming

but I’ve always found this movie to be overhyped because of how much it’s talked about

idk if you saw my other post a few posts back but that really did happen with my parents

^ I loved how nervous Cady was in her various attempts to seduce him

It's one of those movies that I'm not sure if I like it or not. Everyone gives a decent performance considering it is a typical teen flick, but there are some really silly scenes and Tina Fey's script can be a bit over the top - particularly for her own character.

Her character is a teacher who, for some reason, feels the need to share VERY personal details about her life with students... Outside of school, as well.

I kept thinking, "what if this was a male teacher? Would people still find this funny?" Doubtful.

It's one of those comedies that really just expects you to go along for the ride rather than take much of it seriously. I mean, Rachel McAdams' character survives getting badly hit by a bus, so

I think that’s what I loved about watching Heathers for the first time last year - how smart and sharp the script was

she sounds like a very out there teacher

I don’t think I knew she played a teacher

thought she played a mom of one of the girls

I just know everyone says that Lindsay’s performance in this movie was a standout but personally I think her performance in Freaky Friday was more of a standout when it comes to her early 2000s work/movies and doesn’t get talked about/appreciated nearly enough today in my opinion

like I said before I’ve only seen the very beginning of this movie back in like 2005 with my parents before my dad kicked me out of the living room because he thought it was inappropriate for me to be watching

Lindsay is pretty good in this but her character is subject to becoming a Mean Girl just in an attempt to a) avenge somebody else and b) get the attention of a guy she likes, who is already dating the head Mean Girl.

When you analyze the plot, it's kind of ridiculous (especially as she's an intelligent girl who deliberately dumbs herself down to get the guy's attention + then ends up failing her classes ) but there's something undeniably charming about the film, too.

How about Regina's reaction to Cady thinking that song was by The Spice Girls:

"I love her, she's like a martian!"
