Have all the eps been released on DVD? I'd love to watch it but I don't think it's ever been aired over here

They start with a specific storyline on the DVD sets. So far 15 box sets have been released. There's 40 episodes per set. They're released every two months. That's in the U.S....I'm not sure about others.

I love the first four sets. I'd have to say those had my favorite storylines. They're addicting though, I can never just watch only one episode.

I see what you mean. I sat down to watch the first one, and then of course I just had to watch the second, and then......well, you get the picture.

Yeah, but aren't you like that with most of your shows kathY?

Me and my kids. Now the younger one is asking for Dark Shadows. "Just one more Mom, just one more!" "When do we get to see Barnabas come out of his coffin?" (Not for awhile--this was a daytime serial, and it moves at glacial speed.) "Was he always a vampire?" (Nope. That's on another DVD set. ) "Does anyone ever figure out he's a vampire?" (Keep watching. )

My mom didn't see much of the pre-Quentin episodes, so when I watched them with her she was asking me stuff.

I got the latest box set, but I've only watched a couple episodes of disc one...I'm enjoying 1897, but I think coming up is when Frid went on like a month leave. I'm not going to enjoy that. I love Barnabas too much.

Ooh! 1897 was one of my fav storylines!

I'm a pretty new fan, my mom got me to watch it in 2002 on scifi. Then I got addicted enough to go to a con.

I'm not a big fan of the original series, but I did love the 1991 one hour series. I used to watch it with my parents when I was little. I wish they would release that.

Of course I also wish that the Dark Shadows pilot had been picked up last May for The WB.

I'm still bitter over the WB's decision not to pick up the show. I was very much looking forward to seeing it.

Wow. A Dark Shadows thread. I'm stunned.

My mom used to watch the original when I was a baby. She always put me down for my nap when it came on. Even now, the theme music puts me to sleep. I tried to watch the old episodes, and is absolutely unreal. The music starts and I'm out like a light. Then I wake up to the ending music. I bet if I got a recording of it, I'd never have insomnia again.

I'm a fairly new fan too. I like your user name. 1897 turned out to be a favorite of mine. It ranks right up there with first six box sets of DVDs. I hated it when the story ended and the Levathian crap began. UGH.

Crossbow - That's crazy that you still fall asleep to it so easily! I don't think I ever gave my mom a moments peace, no matter what show was on.

I think it has been released on video, hasn't it? I think my husband gave it to me for my birthday, or Christmas, or something. And I think I haven't watched it yet!

*runs off to look*
