I don't think Starkiller has much to be happy about.

Yeah, it's bad enough to be raised as a Sith, which I'm guessing involves physical and emotional abuse out the yinyang, judging by the times we've seen a Sith apprentice's perspective, but he's also got this inconvenient fact that he can't die, Kenny-style.

He's never happy. Even when he's with Juno he isn't happy.

It's even worse in TFUII.

The Darth Maul journal describes quite a bit of abuse. Enough to be pretty disturbing.

TFU is so fanficish. Starkiller is a total Mary Sue.

It's a really fun game, but the plot is weak.

I don't consider Starkiller a Mary Sue. He's way too pathetic.

Starkiller whines. I haven't played the game yet (even though I got it as a Bday gift), and the comic I read was very Boba Fett-centric. Basically Starkiller is brought back as a clone, but he thinks he's the original Starkiller, then he finds out that he isn't, angst ensues.

Well, the Sith apparently thrive on pain. Their own (which turns to anger) and others' (just because they're evil). And of course, Maul was disposable anyway. I really don't think Palps would've kept him if he planned on using human supremacy to cement his power.

Starkiller has Mary Sue tendencies. About half of all godmodding Mary Sues are male (which, since Mary Sue tends to be more easily spotted in female characters just because of the name, says a lot). Male Mary Sues also tend to be brooding loners. The only thing really separating him from the typical male Mary Sue is that he only has one love interest.

Oh, that old storyline.

Male Mary Sues are named Gary Stu.

I prefer to just call them Mary Sues.

I still say Starkiller isn't a Mary Sue. He's waaaay too whiny.

Or Marty Sam. Or Larry Stu. Or Wesley. Or Tommy (proving tropes are not bad, he's actually got his own "Chuck Norris facts" list). Or...

Stus have a few notable differences between themselves and Sues. Unfortunately, the differences are not much, and can make them more annoying.

*Perma Stubble, unless part Indian. Also, expect some aesthetically placed scars, so that he won't be too pretty, while emphasizing his dangerous lifestyle.
*Make him big and muscular. Even in professions which don't have a lot of work. Or conversely, make him lean and streamlined, when the author realizes that women's tastes are not quite the same as what they think women's tastes are.
*Give him a very big penis. And not the funny kind. Oddly, the ones that make one wonder if the writer even knows what sex is tend to be written by women or gay men (i.e., the people most likely to remember a lot of penises), though.
*Lots of sex with women (or men, or both). Sometimes up to the point of the Tenchi solution, completely out of place with the setting. Mary can do this too, but the double standard tends to make it more of a Stuish trait.
