Actually, to me that's the final thing that totally delegitimizes it. The only way you could have new legit Star Wars is by totally dumping everything Lucas did after 1983. If you build on a false foundation like the Prequels you can't create anything legit. I knew the Sequel Trilogy was going to do this eventually.

Rian specifically mentioned the scene with Kylo with his father's dice and Vader when the mask is coming down on his face - a look of fear or regret?

But I only read that part so I don't know what other scene influenced him.

I really need to rewatch the movie and pay attention to that specifically because to me it didn't really feel like neither the OT (like TFA felt to a certain degree) or the prequels
