My hubby and I went for passport photos and in one of the aisles were Star Wars ornaments. I got really excited when I saw BB-8 which really confused my husband...especially when I tried to explain being the keeper of the orange ring on the top of his head.

Apologies for raining on your parade, Deb
 , but BB8's cuteness really bugs me. It's one of the many things that undermines the seriousness of The Force Awakens and makes it too safe. R2 was far less cutesified in the OT and even the ewoks ate people. It's like they're kiddifying Star Wars. One of my biggest problems with Rey is how she's such a safe character despite her wild past. Finn too -he's a Stormtrooper, for god's sake, yet he's the nicest guy around. It's just not very credible or very mature.__________________
