Btw, did you know that Ben didn't know about Anakin being Darth Vader?. He found out when he was an adult. Leia and Han didn't tell him

I had heard about that

This won't have helped his insecurities about constantly feeling isolated and rejected by his family.

I feel like part of the reason he's completely ignoring Vader's sacrifice is because his family treated Vader's legacy that way too. By not telling him about who Vader really was and what he did for Luke and recognizing the sacrifice, he might have gotten the impression Vader was all evil, that his sacrifice didn't matter. And of course, Snoke had a big influence too.

Good point

It would seem to Ben that his parents were trivializing Anakin's humanity by not telling him about the Vader side of him, which of course is just as important because as the saying from Nolan's Batman goes - Why do we fall? - So we can learn to pick ourselves up. Anakin's fall from grace had consequences but he had a shining moment with Luke before his death and this is vital information for Ben to have in knowing about his family's legacy. It tells you that turning to darkness does not have to be your definitive end.

That's so true. If they told him everything about Anakin's redemption the way they were supposed to...he wouldn't have looked up to Vader so much
