Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Rae or Mel a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes less than two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have made and voted on a winning graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

This is so exciting

Ok so. To avoid putting all main characters from all 3 generations in the graphic and ending up with a crowded mess, I suggest we stick to the most recent cast of The Force Awakens/two new movies that are gonna come out, since it involves the main 3 from the original movies (just older) plus the new generation which is super popular on the board right now.

I also suggest the following order, so we have the tie in with Han/Kylo plus Kylo next to Rey and Rey next to Finn and Finn next to Poe, which covers the most popular ships and will avoid yelling

:

Luke/Leia/Han/Kylo/Rey/Finn/Poe

If you guys feel like there's more room available, there's Obi-Wan, Yoda and Vader which have appeared either in voice-overs or as a force guiding a character in the new movie, or are rumoured to appear in flashbacks in the next film, and they're all mains from the movies before, and could go in the background, but I personally feel like the 7 I mentioned are enough.

Reminder that keeping that order will avoid civil wars

Vader / Yoda / Obi-Wan

Good luck with matching the skin tones

Sadly there isn't like a single shoot with everyone.

As far as colours go, I’ve always dreamed of Hoth-like, icey colours for this board, so like silver/light blue, although I’m open minded when it comes to that (I’m just against green for some reason).

Seven characters is a good amount. I know almost nothing of the movies beyond characters names but if those seven represent the franchise and the movies past and present then they sound good to me. Seven characters is not too crowded and you will see everyone, while at ten they would be getting smaller.

Is there another picture of Kylo, Poe, and possibly Leia as I am not sure if those will be usable? Leia possibly can be since there are three but two are cut off on the sides.

As for your colours just as long as it gets rid of these dark shades then I am happy

. My opinion is irrelevant but I refuse to keep things dark here. How about colour schemes like these: one, two, three, four, five, six? I also found this which amused me but is probably irrelevant.

I agree, except I think Han, Luke and Leia should be represented by pics from when they were at their best, in the Original Trilogy, not the new films. Also, Poe was marketed big, but he's really just a secondary character and was nearly summarily killed off. If we we're sticking to 7 characters, the seventh should be Vader, who is one of the best-known Star wars figures and is central the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy and influences characters in the newest film and may appear and in the next film (Rogue One).

I'm all for Vader being included

He could be next to Luke, since it's the most direct connection. So it'd be 8, if that's workable for the GT. I definitely think we should keep Poe anyway though.

As far as using OT pictures of the trio, I'm also definitely ok with that, since there are better pics of those days and the looks are a classic for all characters.

Kylo, however, only has pictures with his helmet on which wouldn't be very nice considering Adam's face is now very representative of the character! The reason his promo pics were with his helmet on was to keep the secret. Take a look around at other boards; there are some with around 10-15 characters in the graphic so we can do it. But for me the less you have the larger the people and better you can see them.

Do we have a good picture of Vadar for the team to use should they wish to include him
(which I think they will)? And any of the other more optional characters like Yoda, C-3PO and R2-D2, and BB-8?

My issue with the one you posted is that the snow may get in the way. It also might look odd in the graphic (especially since it is more a still than a promotional picture)

. Of your choices the SNL one looks best to me.. It is a shame they only did pictures of him wearing a helmet but I can understand that if it was a surprise.

I love the recent X-Men graphic and there are 8 there and they're all pretty visible.

This one from the SNL skit looks pretty good too, and another character could cover the arm raised up.

Agree about Poe, he should be there.

If the GT could manage to fit C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8 it would be so cool!

We have now finished making all the graphics and the Graphics Team are going to vote on a winner, so this thread will now be closed until the colours and graphic have been set up - then we will re-open it so you can tell us what you all think!
