Just pretend it all ended on ROTJ for them It works for me most of the time Like I said, I consider the sequel a separate thing.

There's no Star Wars canon beyond the OOT. Canon is what's the real thing and nothing else is the real thing. As for reality, what happened is that a different company, minus the original creator, made a sequel 30 years later that didn't fit with the original films, so it's not like said sequel counts for anything.
