Welcome, Tereza :back_hug: Added :)

Yes, same  Han/Leia and Ben/Rey, my two Star Wars OTPs. :in_love:

Couldn't agree more :D But I really liked Anidala too, they were cute, especially in the second movie :) it's just that there is something missing...

Agreed. To me, it's the performances and the chemistry of Han/Leia and Kylo/Rey that are just ultra special.

I adore this picture.

Oh yes the chemistry is out of this world :D

That's a great picture

It is the definition of third-wheeling. Poor Luke. :P :lmao: It might be my favorite Star Wars promo pic of all time. :thud:

Foxie 01-14-2018 08:17 AM

Yeah, but in trilogy Luke was never a third wheel. They worked perfectly as a trio

Crystal Clear 01-14-2018 08:34 AM

They did  And I never felt it was a straight-forward love triangle. Perhaps because I never felt any heat between Luke and Leia before the siblings reveal happened, but mostly because Han and Luke were always such great friends and had a deep respect for each other that I believe would have overridden any love interest complication.

Point proven, when in ROTJ, Han thinks she's in love with Luke, and is telling her "all right, I understand - I'll step aside." Leia's happiness was all that mattered to him, and he has so much respect for Luke that he was willing to see them together even if it broke his heart :thud: :in_love:

Foxie 01-14-2018 08:53 AM

The heat was always between Han and Leia :in_love:

I was too never worried that something would happen before the reveal. I just though that it would be immature and disrespectful thing to do regarding Luke's and Han's friendship. I hate when writers ruin good friendships with stupid love triangles.

Crystal Clear 01-14-2018 09:00 AM

Yeah, because Mark Hamill briefly discussed it in the Comic Con TFA panel that "[Harrison and I] were originally love rivals" and Harrison was like, "how many times am I supposed to say I'm sorry?" :lmao:

So the original perception (by Mark, anyway) was this love triangle situation, which they hinted at when Han was like "do you think a Princess and a guy like me...?" to which Luke promptly shuts him down with "no." After A New Hope, it is Han and Leia as a romance all the way, with Luke pursuing his own journey in terms of finding out the source of his Jedi power and how to deal with who his father is. I thought it was beautiful how Luke/Leia and Han/Leia both wrapped up in ROTJ. No love triangle nonsense was thrust upon us, just a beautiful situation of three people who love each other.

^ That moment in the Comic Con was so funny. :lmao: I love how much Mark still plays with the situation.

I love how ROTJ ended too, everybody was so happy. I wish we knew what happened after that and before TFA.

a new hope 01-14-2018 09:10 PM

^I wish we knew, too  Although I'm guessing a lot of what happened in the books, just tweaked a little. The difference is, through all their troubles in the books, Han and Leia never split up

sweet creature 01-15-2018 04:12 PM

This is gonna sound so dumb, but what books? Do they follow the ~canon timeline or is it like fan made?

Them splitting up breaks my heart, especially cause it sounds like they've been apart for years and years. :(

The books are official but de-canonize does by Disney believe or something

Yes and it's so cute how Carrie and Harrison were teasing him, they were basically saying "get over it, already" :lmao:

I'm very confused how we're supposed to treat the Expanded Universe now  I feel as if parts of it still read as canon, even for the movies, but JJ deliberately shut them down as canon in order to avoid being held to account when he does different things with the characters

The Han and Leia separation was pretty much boiled down to "every time you looked at me, I know I reminded you of our Vader-esque son" from Han :bawl: and Leia responding "we both went back to the things we were any good at, in order to hide from our heartbreak" (I am paraphrasing but that was the gist of it) :bawl:
