Sorry, had to do that. I came onto social media today and the trailer was literally EVERYWHERE and I didn't feel the slightest compulsion to watch it.

It's not even that I'm protective over Harrison Ford's Han Solo, I just don't have any interest in this as a prequel.

I mean, I saw it, but felt nothing. Han without Harrison isn't Han to me. To me this movie is offensive as a fan of the original trilogy. They should've left it alone and done the Obi-Wan sequel movie before anything else and focus on characters who have been in the prequels whose actors are still young enough to play younger versions of themselves like Ewan.

I'm pleased it's not just me

I can't connect to any of the main cast. From the pics I've seen, I'm just like "meh"

and I'm tired of seeing Emilia Clarke cast in everything lately (she's like the new Felicity Jones) and I don't see why Han Solo's backstory was so compelling that it HAD to be turned into a movie, and I love the character so

His backstory is made pretty clear in the original trilogy, there's nothing exceptionally complex about it that needs to be explored at all! All the interesting things that are life changing for him happen after he meets Luke. So yeah

Yeah, seriously, he becomes such a lovable guy when he befriends Luke and falls in love with Leia but besides that, he's just a smuggler who hung around with Chewie for a few years. What else do we need to know?

Exactly, it's so pointless. They probably figured that Han is one of the most popular characters (if not the most) and decided "hey let's make some money" but Han is famous because of Harrison. He made Han who he is.

They probably would've done that if Harrison was into it, but I think Harrison wants to be done with SW. Which means they should be done with Han, not make a younger version of him, to me it's absurd.

I'm convinced that they killed Han in huge part because Larry Kasdan had firm memories of Harrison's displeasure with his role in ROTJ.

It's a shame, really, that Harrison couldn't look past the lack of dramatic action in that movie because I would have loved him to appreciate the happy ending portrayal as the audience does.
