Yeah, I'm not sure how accurate it is since at one point, it says that Ben was targeted by Snoke during his teens. As far as we know, it happened sooner than that, even though we have no idea exactly when, maybe episode IX will answer that question for good. Because honestly, I think there is Reason to believe that Ben was targeted as a baby (couldn't sleep for days and would cry and cry and cry) or even before his birth.

I think that the content on this website as taken from the canon books. Books which are interpreted by people though, so I think it was just misunderstanding about when Snoke targeted him.

I read this on another board and it got me thinking about IX:

In terms of screentime, Kylo Ren was 4th in each movie. And that's a problem for the most popular character of the new trilogy (let's face it, it's true, whether you like Kylo Ren or not, just have a look at all the discussions on various boards, Ren is the character of the ST people talk about the most, followed by Rey and the OT characters).

It's a problem if the writers want to go the Redemption and Reylo route. Because 15 minutes of screentime in IX? nope, not going to work, it won't sell the redemption and the love story to the GA and the people who are on the fence where Reylo is concerned (the haters will probably always hate Reylo so it's a lost cause).


Kylo Ren needs to be first, or at least have equal time with Rey. It's incredible that Finn, less popular, has had more screentime than Kylo Ren! Almost 50 minutes for Finn for barely 35 minutes for Ren. Even Rose got almost as much screentime as Ren in TLJ.


There's so much to cover for the end of Kylo Ren and the rebirth of Ben Solo that other characters will have to take a back seat, this time. Kylo Ren will need as much screentime as possible to deliver his story properly. I think flashbacks are necessary to show us how and when Ben Solo's abuse started, to get people to understand him, get where he comes from and accept where the story is going.

Me too. We know, as fans, what happened. The general audience, the casual fans and some categories of fans who still think that Ben Solo chose evil NEED to see that Ben Solo was targeted as a child. Therefore, we need a flashback of Snoke meeting young Ben and creating this kind of mind link between them, allowing him to manipulate the young Solo.

A child being abused is an horrible thing and only by SEEING IT with their own eyes will the GA, the casual fans and the non Ben fans could accept that he was targeted because of his uncle, chosen to destroy his uncle and that now that is free from Snoke, Ben Solo can slowly come back.

Well, my mom told me already after TFA that Kylo was manipulated and she is just a general viewer, never saw SW before, so I don't know if it really isn't clear at least a bit

I think it really varies, some people can be very narrow minded and just see things in black and white...

^ that's true. I think with the movies you get the general idea, but tbh I did have those questions after seeing the movies and I think it sucks a bit when you have to read the novelizations to get the whole picture, so I hope we get an explanation on the movies too.

Yeah I want them to make it as obvious as possible that Ben isn't the enemy here. Even more obvious than they made it in TLJ.
