I'm not surprised at this point, but I am still really annoyed they're making this one into live action. Not quite as annoyed as when I heard about The Lion King or Dumbo, but Lilo & Stitch is still relatively recent....well I guess it's 16 years old now ()....but I feel like if they continue this endless streak of live action remake announcements I am going to give up on them. Why would they need to make Lilo & Stitch into live action? What on earth could they possibly add to it that would make it feel warranted? The animated film is absolutely perfect as it is. I've said this before, but this really is stretching the limit now. It's belittling animation as an art form, it's like they're saying they have to remake all their hand drawn animated classics because they're out dated, and that they are not worthwhile anymore. It makes me so sad. I'm just awaiting live action remake announcements for Hercules, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, and even The Princess & the Frog. It honestly wouldn't surprise me now. Are these remakes to be seen as tributes to their animated counterparts? Or is the sheer amount of the classics being remade belittling animation as an art form? I'm just starting to feel heart-broken with it all.

I love the Disney live action films but I feel them wanting to make one out of Lilo and Stich is crazy, this is definitely one I don't agree with or understand making live action. I also personally think it's one of Disney's weakest films. I felt the same about Dumbo but I liked the trailer for it so that might be a good movie, and I can't wait for The Lion King (especially when the same guy that did The Jungle Book is doing it) I feel the other one that doesn't make sense for live action is Lady and the Tramp. So besides those two movies I like them and they have been pretty good IMO.

I am kind of surprised they are making it into a live action film...I don't know how they are going to do it honestly.

Me either. I am surprised but not at the same time if that makes any sense lol. It's seriously unnecessary. I love Lilo & Stitch, I think it's pretty underrated. It came out in an era for Disney that wasn't doing very well in the animation department as it slipped off the rails after the amazing 90's era. But what makes Lilo & Stitch special for me is Lilo & Nani's sister relationship, it's just so good and feels real and relatable. This does not need to be transferred to live action. It's real and perfect enough as it is in animation, even with the aliens. And Stitch is adorable.

I totally agree with everything you said. When this movie came out, I was in high school and still found something so wonderful about it.
