Yeah, her vamps are awesome. They aren't good, but they aren't evil (like the Buffyverse vamps). Pretty much all the humans who find out about the vampires, eventually becomes one themselves without any angsty will-they-or-won't-they angst. In Rice's world, Vampirism is not a curse, it is a gift that they share with those they love the most.
