Eh, depends on the person. I noticed that the majority of male profiles say "no hookups", which is nice. Same on Bumble. I think most people on there actually want to have a loving relationship. Lots of guys say "never married, no kids, but want both".

I wish my pessimistic way of thinking wasn't causing me to say what if the men say no hookups as a way to trick women into hooking up with them?

Some do say that they are only there for "friends" or "nothing serious" or "FWB", etc. A lot of people don't strike me as shy online.

They tend to say what they mean, a lot of the time. Too much work to pretend to want a relationship if all one wants is a hookup. Lots of skanky people out there, so no need to act all virtuous to get laid, imo.
