Star Wars Thread #4: "The Road to Hell" (SPOILERS)

"We're going to watch [Anakin] make a pact with the devil...the lava at the end...it ends in Hell."- George Lucas on Revenge of the Sith

"I thought I could intsruct him as well as Yoda...

...I was wrong."

It's coming. Oooh boy, it's coming

Woah! When/where did he say that?

Doesn't sound like it's going to be a PG movie.

Can't wait!

Taste the rainbow!

I made a few icons from the trailer, so I'll go post them over at the avatars thread.

I know, that's one of the biggest reasons I wanted to see it in theatres. I just wanted to hear what all the people would do in reaction. Zut.

Yeah, GL did say that quote. I have long felt it's not going to be PG. He also said he didn't want to pull it back to get the PG rating. I hope not!

There's an interview with GL on CBS tonight for '60 Minutes', 7pm ET/PT in case anyone's interested. He'll be talking about the PT and RotS specifically. I think there's some behind the scenes stuff and all there.

Yeah, I saw the interview. I was particularly intrigued by that bit, too. My thought is that it's supposed to be like... they are both reading what the other one is doing so well through the Force that they're pre-emptively pulling back where they know they would be parried.

Or it could be that they're both doing what are knowns as disengages: you make a move as though you are going to attack somewhere, then you quickly switch the attack target. Now, they can counter this and I've personally been in situations with up to probably a triple disengage, but what they were doing was NUTS.

I'll have to talk it over with my lightsabre discussion buddies.

In any case, that was freaking sweet. Ridiculously fast! I mean, my word! Since I fence Western, my sword is a lot lighter and is used with one hand. But to switch from two to one with the heavier Katana style lightsabres- ! That is wicked.

Crap. Now I really wanna see the film. I'm a sucker for good swordfights (it must run in the family... or at least in my circle of friends), and this sounds like it's gonna be awesome.

I have this old picture in my collage book and thought I'd post it

Awesome Image

I think he looks like Alec in this picture.

I had to edit that image to a link because it was too big and causing side-scrolling. Just so you know why.

I love that picture. So very Jedi. He does bear resemblance to Alec, largely just in how he plays the character, expressions, postures and all. Because, actually, he and Alec don't look a great deal like one another otherwise. So it's actually very impressive that it's managed to all seem so connected.
