btw i saw Hanna when it premiered here and i'm recommending it to every single friend of mine. i went in with high expectations and the movie exceeded them. Saoirse and Cate have the biggest parts in the movie and Cate's performance is so chilling and intimidating. her character isn't what it seems at first and even when her background story is revealed she keeps you guessing on her next move. definitely watch it!

suuuure. i'll try to keep it as spoiler free as possible. the movie starts with Hanna getting trained by her father in this deserted freezing place in Finland. we find out he's been training her since forever to become an assasin. and we don't know the link between them and Cate's character ( aka Marissa) until we find out it's her he is training Hanna to kill. Marissa is a corrupt CIA agent that used to work with Hanna's father back in the day until she became the reason he had to leave the agency and leave the country altogether. when Hanna feels ready she sets out to kill Marissa and the story unfolds with lots of action and great character development for the two leading ladies in the span of just two hours. Saoirse does badass and vulnerable wonderfully and Cate is cold and intimidating. if you're an HP fan she has just a biiit of Umbridge in her. the OST was also craaaazy. it's all by the Chemical Brothers and i guarantee you'll be

the whole time. i highly recommend it.

Wow, LOVE that there's a new LOTR board on here! So, just a little info, my name is Jen & I'm an Admin of a Cate Blanchett forum and I was thrilled to find this thread on here! Can't wait to see Jackson's genius in theaters again.

Oh...and on a Cate note, I'll be seeing her on stage in DC this coming August, I can't wait!!!

Hanna was pretty good. It wasn't as good as the original script I read & Cate's character was MUCH more fleshed out & 3 dimensional in the script vs. the finished product which was disappointing, but Cate was entertaining. I liked the soundtrack a lot and felt Saoirse did a fantastic job! I really liked Tom Hollander's character as well, he was creepy. lol
