Season 2, Episode 20 "City of Lost Children" Episode Discussion original air date, Monday May 8th 2017 Synopsis: “THIS IS US” STAR LONNIE CHAVIS GUEST STARS When an alien attacks National City, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO learn the alien is a Phorian, an otherwise peaceful race with telekinetic powers. Guardian (Mehcad Brooks) gets a lead on the Phorian’s address but instead of finding the culprit, he finds a very scared boy named Marcus (guest star Lonnie Chavis). Marcus will only trust James so it is up to Guardian to stop the attacks on the city. Rhea’s (Teri Hatcher) plan escalates. The episode was directed by Ben Bray from a story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Gabriel Llanas & Anna Musky-Goldwyn. - James and Winn being BFFs! I like when we get glimpses of their friendship.
- Poor James doesn’t want to be like that other guy *cough*Batman reference*cough* - No, Lena! Don’t treat Rhea like a surrogate mother! She’s super shady! - Looks like Lena and Rhea’s little machine is leading telepathic aliens to violence - Okay, James… what is the deal with getting annoyed every time Kara saves the day? Loved - Did no one else in the vicinity hear Rhea’s evil conversation with Kara? And how was Lena okay with Rhea answering her phone in the first place? I’d be like “Don’t care if that was a telemarketer, no one answers MY phone” - Mon-el, why didn’t you just bust that thing in Rhea’s hand when she started messing with J’onn? - New Daxam? Really? We couldn’t do the New Krypton arc instead? __________________

I know, Kara mentioned Superman's friend with "lots of gadgets and demons" way back in episode 7, but Winn mimicking the pointy ears and the mention of them as "frenemies" was a nice little extra confirmation.

It's funny that everybody assumes that the Bat-references are inferring the existence of Bruce, when it's just as possible that E38's "Batman" could be Dick or Tim, or even not be a " BatMAN" at all but instead be Batwoman.

This was a solid episode. That Marcus kid seemed like something from ''Village of the Damned''. What did you think of the ending to this episode?

Yeah, but the season's almost over. Thankfully there's another episode next week to end this cliffhanger instead having it drag onto next season, though I guess something like that could still happen.
