That's it. It would have been to obvious. So... WTH is it and how is it going to end? Really aliens? I'm still kind of because of the alien encounter.

I hope you'll have time to finish it this weekend, Kris!

I just finished the book and really?! That's it?! Therefore I read the book. Damn it, I really hope they'll come up with something way better in the show.

I'm glad though about all of them who survived! And Big Jim finally got what he derserved. He was having hallucinations, wasn't he?! Seeing all those dead people?

Kris, that's it. I didn't want to tell you that I thought the ending was really lame, too.

Except the fire, that was horrendous and shocking.

You don't have to add sp tags here, Northy. It says "book spoilers" in the title. We've just been trying to keep it to a minimum for Kris.

I still am not over it... I spend such a long time reading it and in the second half of the book it had picked up pace to just get to this... And what is is supposed to teach us? That we should live our lives differently, because we just have that one life and not plant, not animals, not people should be treated bad? I really thought it crap.

Yes, Northy, I'm done now. Just go ahead and post freely. Until anybody else joins and finishes the book.

The explosion... That one turned out much worse than I expected. But I don't care about that, it's okay, too. But really, kiddo-aliens looking through a box and enjoying it? That's ill, isn't it?

I feel like the whole aliens and all that sort of thing was supposed to be like a symbolic metaphor for something. Though...I'm not quite sure what yet.

The whole thing started with kids setting fire to an ant hill. So the Dome is an ant hill, and this is what it feels like.

Kris, I still think reading the book wasn't a complete waste of time. It gives you a different perspective on the show, like a distorted reflection in a mirror. The same, yet completely different.

That's my impression as well But I really have no clue what the really deep thoughts behind it are.

Maybe it shall make us start thinking about how we treat other poeple, animals, plants and so on... To see that all have their lives and we're not supposed to judge anybody nor hurt those people because one day, you could be that person.

Sherry, it wasn't but I don't think it's a good book at all... I'm so glad the show is so much better!

I think people who read the book long before the show perhaps liked it better because they didn't have the show as comparison.

Yeah, I know I kinda feel that way. Or at least, kinda did. The funny thing though is that Book and Show Big Jim are scarily similar, and I always pictured him to be looking like the actor that plays him.

The main characters are mostly quite similar book-to-series; it's the events that change most drastically.

I dunno, Book Linda (if she counts) was a complete badass. That being said, it's actually kind of funny comparing The Chef to Show Phil.

Oh, you are so right about Linda! My bad!
Book!Phil is so completely different. The only similarity is the name.

And then of course there's Angie and Dodee. At least one of them actually is dead in the show.

Point made, Northy!
