I agree. It's hard to imagine anybody else bringing Janeway to life.

I don’t feel anything at all. B'Elanna, the Maquis were like our adopted family. I can understand you trying to block out that kind of pain. You don’t understand. It’s not just the pain. I don’t feel anything. Not about my dead friends, not about Tom, you, my job.

Quite the identity and personal crisis going on there.

I'd say Janeway was certainly the best female regular character on Voyager. The others didn't enormously impress me. Kes was ok, but not given much personality. Torres felt petty and petulant rather than Klingon-fierce. And 7 of 9 was the height of objectification, a woman with her humanity taken away served up as a sexual object in a spray-on suit. (She was much better in Picard of course.) Janeway sometimes got on my nerves, but there was a lot of substance and genuineness to her. She was very believable.

Torres grew on me as the character was fleshed out

Janeway can't quite get her head around that logic.

Missed the Janeway/Tuvok friendship in later seasons of Voyager

Yes, that seemed to fall by the wayside. Unfortunately.

Although the Tuvok and Neelix friendship provided some interesting scenes.
