Kia - this

Maybe in the end it made the tensions between seven and janeway more believable lol

That could be. It seems only natural that some of what you really feel would come across on screen.

Thanks for the link, Chris.

I have worked with actors before and sometines it does feel like their role and its relationships seep into their characters for a while.

One part of the story makes a lot of sense to me though. Mulgrew has always been incredibly outspoken about Janeway being a trailblazer for women on Star Trek. She didn't want stereotypes and she even denied us J/C for that reason.
So I can imagine the showrunners' decision to put Seven there - basically wearing underwear and being a life-sized Barbie doll at the beginning - rubbed her the wrong way after all her work.
But don't get me wrong - that's no excuse for the kind of open hostility she describes. Though we have only read about her side in that article.
Either way, I am glad they seem to be fine in each others company now :)
I adore both actresses.

 I can see that too. While Trek has always had some women of the week for sex appeal, the main characters were generally portrayed as confident and competent role models.

As you say, that's only one side of the story.

Yep though she was also shown as a serious rather emotionless person. A bit like T'pol and her hot decontamination scenes, but yet T'pol was also very strong and confident.

 with your points..

 although Seven and T'Pol were obviously meant to be sex symbols, their characters were always shown as relying on their skills, and not their looks.

PARIS: Hey, Naomi, you want to take the helm?
NAOMI: Can I?
SEVEN: Ensign.
PARIS: She’ll be familiarising herself with the vessel.

:lmao: what a terrific scene! Impressed with Seven reassuring Naomi in regards to her contribution.
