Ain't that the truth

By the way, I was thinking about the mannerism and facial expression discussion and I do see the similarity between Scully and Janeway. They both love to use the skeptibrow and express emotions through their eyes.
And they have the same bossypants streak once they have their hands on their hips

interesting cause I love Scully and could never stand Janeway

My gasp almost made me fall backwards

But while I adore both of them, we were only speaking about tiny aspects. They are very different characters.

I never watched The X-Files, so can't compare.

I've tried to rewatch it because I never watched all the seasons although I liked it as a teen. But nowadays the conspiracy stuff seams so heavy handed...

Really? I actually think the show has aged pretty well.

wickedrum 12-06-2020 08:31 AM

It’s a genre of its own, so no need to involve reality with it

For science fiction or fantasy type shows, a fan needs to be able to buy into the storyline.

That's true but imo the allure of sci-fi is that it is fantasy and allows me to deviate from what could happen in real life.

wickedrum 12-06-2020 09:14 AM

which is why I rarely watch real world based movies/shows.

Fantasy worlds are safer.
