Johnnie - cutting your food into smaller pieces to make it easier to chew is easily doable

Dave - okay, thanks. What would everybody like to see in the banner?

Still waiting for a winner to be announced in the US election. Hard to believe that it's so close.

LAndlady's dad is going home today between the hospital and Parkwood believe it was approx a month related to the stroke of recovery/rehab

We are keeping the dogs for a bit longer cause from what I understand is he was using a walker while at Parkwood where not sure if that was hospital too cause she wasn't able to visit him there

yea Sarah...or lean mean meat....

OK Sarah...we hope your landlady's dad recovers quickly

In the USA ...if you are in a hospital for a month or longer... I think they take away Social security and any government assistance away for that month. I'm not sure what the USA laws are if Seniors and Disabled people lose their government benefits if it's over 6 months or longer. So I hope your landladys father is still getting whatever government assistance he's getting while in hospital

Well technically he was in the hospital itself for 2 weeks and almost 2 weeks in a "stroke rehab center" between the 2 it was almost a month

Landlady does too don't think she wants to give them back

Also wonder if she's going to try to get her dad to move into the house or not she's got a spare bedroom upstairs thanks to the one tenant moving out about a month ago

she was going to keep it empty in case the previous tenant runs into trouble cause she gets disability but started working a job and once she got up to like 4-5 days weekly decided to rent a bachelor apartment so think she still gets probably half disability along with employment earnings so it's probably tight for her but can understand her wanting her own place

Dave - what? Mom's broken her hip 3 times and been in the hospital for an extended period and there was no change in her benefits. She spent almost 3 months in hospital waiting for a nursing home bed. After a few weeks when it was clear that she was there for her safety and not because she needed to be hospitalized, we were charged the rate for a nursing home stay, the same as she's being charged now for room and board, but no change in her benefits. However if you leave your nursing home accommodation for more than a month because you're hospitalized, you'll lose your bed in the nursing home. Although apparently they can fill out some paperwork to extend that if you'll be released from the hospital soon.

Data needs your support here.
