Chronological order might be best....thought it wont' always fit.

The best thing about star trek is that there isn't a lot of dependence on each series.

TOS, TNG, DS9 and then Voyager might be preferable....though I know people that would like to switch DS9 and Voyager.

Welcome KimEke!

As Cryostar said, chronological order might be best, but I'm not sure that it really matters. For the most part, each series will stand on it's own. The Next Generation and Voyager are my two favourite series. I could never really get into Deep Space 9, but other people feel that it was the best series in the franchise. Basically, it's up to you. Just whichever series is most convenient for you to watch first.

I'd be more inclined to watch the movies in order.

Our thread dedicated to discussion of the Enterprise series is here, if you'd like to join us.

How's this?

Enterprise
TOS
TAS
Star Trek The Motion Picture
Star Trek The Wrath of Kahn
Star Trek III
Star Trek IV
Star Trek V
Star Trek VI
TNG
Star Trek VII
Here's the tricky part.... these can all be interpersed with each other...
DS9, Star Trek VII, Voyager, Star Trek IX
Finally Star Trek X

I have to agree with Cryostar's list, except I wouldn't worry about TAS (The Animated Series) right at the start.

The thing about Voyager vs. Deep Space Nine is that somethings won't make sense at least as far as I have seen if you haven't seen part of DeepSpaceNine. Especially the blending of the crews (Voyager) and the war(s) of DeepSpaceNine.

I love Deep Space 9. IT's so the black sheep.

I wonder if anyone could actually choronogical everything exactly.
Like do what we did when things were originally aired.

Watch TNG and then find out whenever Generations came out then watch that.
Continue watching TNG until DS9,
Watch both of those.
Then add in Voyager when that started?

OK that seemed way too complicated.

Yeah, when you think of that, think of listing out 700+ episodes of Star Trek and Movies (closer to 750) in chronological order.

True. Not having watched much DS9, I didn't have much background on the Maquis. They were introduced in TNG, but I think there was more about them in DS9.

The thing is, there wasnt that much about then in DS9, it was more Bajor Vs. Cardissia.

The Maquis were against the Cardassians which were huge in DS9. Not to mention the fact that when we first meet Voyager and Janway it is on DS9.
