i know this is an unconventional couple, even in videogames, but i still dig the dynamic duo of Masterchief and Cortana in the Halo games. unfortunately Cortana only had a seven year lifespan as an AI in the UNSC Halsey Protocol, but i still think she was able to move beyond her programming. Cortana was the most intelligent AI of her series, and i like to think she evolved past her directives.
