I started to read Older by Nautibitz.
I have a question. I know that many of you dislike Bangel because of the similarities between Angel & Humbert Humbert and Buffy & Dolores Haze. And yet, while reading this fan fiction, I keep thinking of Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. (a masterpiece even if it is about a man that boinks his 13-15 yr old stepdaughter) Buffy & Lolita (official name: Dolores Haze; also called: Lo) are both teens being raised by a single mother. The mother falls for a man that falls in love/lust with her daughter. Both girls straddle the line between acting like a spunky, free-spirited kid and being wise beyond her years. Both girls understand what they are doing and even play the sexual agressor and yet still have that vulnerability and innocence that never lets you forget that Spike & Humbert are the adults that should know better. What is it about this story by Nautibitz that makes it less upsetting and wrong to you? What is it about this story that makes Spuffies that felt sickened seeing the flashback in Becoming #1 want to bookmark this tale of forbidden passion? __________________

It is fanfciton...fanifction with lots of smut. It doesn't effect the show, or real Spuffy storyline in anyway. It is harmless, sexy, fun. I once read a fanfic where Willow turned them into animals and animal Buffy and Spike got together. Should I write a report on my views of beastiality now? It's a harmless story. If Older offends you so much don't read it anymore.  |
