I hated that the stupid blonde girl lived to old age and became a successful novelist while Robbie and Cecilia died young and without getting to be together on Earth and that other girl married her rapist since there was no one to make her realize that the man deserved to be in prison.

The story was so good and the acting was superb. I don't understand why Keira and James weren't nominated for an Oscar. Especially James, he was so good.
I hope they work soon again too. Would be awesome. __________________

 Could I please be added to the list? I loved Robbie/Cecilia's love story  ... though the end was tragic and incredibly sad, I'm also happy that they ended up together in the end, though it was in a way that neither of them planned it to be.__________________

Welcome Sarah! I am definitely happy they ended up together. This is what I call an epic love story. It was heartbreaking, moving, beautiful. And the story just makes you fall in love with the characters. Some tv shows seem to be throwing the phrase "epic lovestory" around with every love story they come up with. And usually they don't deserve to be called that.__________________

Fatima, thanks for the welcome! ITA about undeserving couples being called epic without any basis for the usage, and though I think that applies to every couple (except maybe the classic couples from the 1920s / 1930s etc.), Robbie/Cecilia's story is truly memorable, beautiful and poignant all at the same time. I was just watching a clip of the confrontation scene between Robbie, Cecilia and Briony and it was so heartbreaking to watch it, knowing that SHOULD have been the ending but wasn't.  __________________

James' expressions were so incredibly good. And you could feel how much she loved and missed Robbie. And sadly it didn't end there. It was such a powerful scene. __________________

oh please add me to the shipper list.
they are one of my favourite couples of all times. every time I think about them I get sad and angry because they'd never had the chance to really be together. they had to suffer so much pain because of things they had no influence on. I know it's a fictional story but it really hurts thinking about the way life treated them. __________________
