Speaking of quotes I just found this on Tumblr:

“One of the really touching elements to Hermione and Harry’s story is that even when he doesn’t have faith in himself, she does.” - Emma's actual words.

^Love that quote, and it's so true. Hermione always believed in him, helped him along, and pushed him to live up to his potential.

Isn't it. And now I have to hunt down the book it came from(The Wednesday Letters) and read it.

That quote, lord. She ALWAYS believed in him, always encouraged him and held him up when he didn't think he could do it.

OMG, that quote. It's so perfect and true. That's one of the things I loved most about their relationship. Hermione was always there for him, standing by his side. No matter what.

Contrast that to her constant lack of belief and faith in Ron's abilities, the clearest example being her shock when he was made a prefect and Harry wasn't. She never saw Ron's potential but always had faith in Harry's abilities, both as a wizard and a person.

^ Exactly. You know besides the bickering, that was one of my bigger problems with R/Hr. I always felt like Ron was always second best to Harry for Hermione which was why I couldn't find their relationship believable.

On the flip side, she always believed in Harry and pushed him when he needed it b/c she knew he was a great wizard.

Exactly, she never stopped believing in him on second. She always had faith in his abilities and accomplishments hence the "books and cleverness" speech when they were 11. She never doubted that he was a great wizard and that he could get through things no matter what.

I agree. That's my biggest problem with RHr (and why I prefer HHr.) I don't feel like Ron & Hermione had a good foundation built for a lasting relationship. They lacked good communication and Ron had issues with her drive and intelligence and Hermione had a serious lack of faith in his abilities and interest in his accomplishments. And I know people go on about "The Golden Trio" but it never felt like that to me. It felt like Harry/Hermione + Harry/Ron and some Ron/Hermione cause they both were bff with Harry.

Ron & Hermione both deserve people they can have healthy and full relationships with, and I just don't feel like thats with each other.

However, though they have had ups and downs, Harry & Hermione have always managed to stick with each other, support each other, etc. And though they fought, it wasn't in a way that was meant to tear each other apart emotionally.

EDIT: Love the vid posted above. Makes me want to rewatch DH1.

Both DH1 and DH2 were great for HHr. Actually all the movies were even HBP.
