Season 2 sucks so much. I love Morgana but they wated her character and they haven't used her and her awesome potential. I am shocked that they wasted screentime on boring and not seriously important for the plot Gwen. I mean all she did was arranging flowers for God's sake. Morgana on the other hand:

Morgana is a seer, she has powers and is afraid of all of the things happening to her. She admitted that she can't find a way to deal with this situation. She needs to look Uther into the eyes knowing that if he knew that she has powers he would have killed her. She feels lonely and has no one who can confide in. I find this line very poignant:

I don't want to be brave. I just want to be myself. I don't want to be alone any more.

She is alone in Camelot, she needed to push everyone away. Including Arthur. And the thing that made my heart skip a bit? The scene where Athur asks if she is ok. She lies and he just knows it. No matter how distant they are, he still knows. Because they are both the loniest people in the Camelot. Arthur forced to grow up too early, always under pressure and always trying to please his father. And Morgana with her powers. Two people who should find solace in each other arms. Instead they are both drifting apart and became so lost that they can't go back. And the way he screams her name when she is dying.


And now what I want to happen! The most important part. I know that Arthur and Gwen are happening but they can easily marry them still having Morgana and Lancelot their true love. It all depends on how they will pull of Morgana’s return. We all know that ArMor are doomed from the star because of the destiny and Morgana's fate is to become his enemy but while it is their fate to be apart, this could be a very tragic and epic love story.
See what I want to happen is Arthur to realize that he and Morgana drifted apart and he needed someone who could fill this ache in his heart. And that happened to be Gwen. Of course he has feelings and fell for her but his heart was and still is still of another women. That he pushed away his feeling for her but they all came back when he saw her again. And Morgana to admit that she cares about Athur, that she always had romantic feelings for him but she needed to push him away because of her magic powers and her fate. Of course this needs a hell lot of build up but it can be done. Then Lancelot can come to a picture and Gwen can fall in love with him. And this can set thing up in motion. Morgana is on the evil side but she still cares and has feelings for Arthur so she can hurt him. And it can be like in the legends and books now! We can see them struggling with their fate and their love. And at the end when the Camelot fails and the final battle is finished and Arthurs destiny is being fulfilled, it is Morgana who holds him in her arms. That is the story I really want to see, that would move me. And what hurts the most it is that it can be done but I don’t think that the writers will go with this route…
Like I said I know that this isn't happening and it is a denial land but It feels right.

Not really. Le Morte d'Arthur was written from roughly the 1450's to the 1470 by Sir Thomas Malory. It was published in 1485. It may well be the best known work dealing with the Arthurian legends in the English language. What most English speakers today know of the Arthurian Cycle today, they know from Malory. Le Morte d'Arthur was used as the major source material in the 19th century for Tennyson's Idylls of the King and in the 20th century by T. H. White for The Once and Future King. It was also used for source material for John Boorman's 1981 movie Excalibur.

As for ArMor, there's not much. Morgan le Fay is pretty much evil in this telling. She started out in the 12th century texts as a benevolent healer, who was NOT RELATED to Arthur. Still, as many of the English and French sources used by Malory were written by clerics who viewed any woman healer who wasn't in a religious order as dealing in dark magic -- Morgan became progressively more evil. I remember there being a passage in Le Morte d'Arthur where Arthur states that he has loved Morgan le Fay above all the rest of his family and she's betrayed him by plotting to kill him. Queen Morgan le Fay is Arthur's half-sister in this telling. She also married to King Urien of Gore and the mother of the hero Owain (Yvain). He's Urien's son, not Arthur's. But, and this is a big "but", she does come for the badly wounded Arthur after the Battle of Camlann to heal him and take him to Avalon.

As for Mordred, he is Arthur's nephew and son. Mordred's mother is Morgause, full-sister to Morgan and half-sister to Arthur. Morgause is the Queen of Orkney, being married to Lot of Orkney. She is also the mother of Gawain, Agravain, Gaheris (I think), and Gareth. They are all Lot's sons.

Have I confused everyone thoroughly?

Unfortunately I don't think the writers are going to do ArMor (in any shape or form) anymore. Its clear then can't write ArMor and A/G at the same time, so they chose to give Gwen the ladyleadership of the show and make Morgana was she is - the evil, the enemy - while A/G still have their true love even though there's Lancelot in the picture too.

The writers don't know how to handle Morgana (Morgain, Morgan...)'s part of the legend and her relationship with Arthur - whatever it may be.

Justine that's a wonderful post And I agree completely.

IMO Morgana's story is definitely more interesting than Gwen's. The only conflict Gwen has is that she's a servant who wants to marry a Prince Not very interesting and has been done 10000000 times before. And could easily be solved by her skipping the pining for Arthur part and going straight to Lancelot. As for Morgana, she has real conflict because of her powers. Something that's actually integral to her character and not just a boring plot point. They really should have focused on Morgana's struggles and her dangerous position more Katie is an amazing actress and could have done wonders with that material.

And you're also right that Arthur and Morgana are the two loneliest people in Camelot When Morgana said that line about being brave I just wanted to cry and give her a hug They could have helped each other so much But you're right, no matter how distant they get they always have that bond that formed between them in childhood and Arthur will always know if something's wrong with her

Justine that's exactly the story I want to see too Its so beautiful and tragic and moving. And now that Morgana's not his sister its totally possible for them to do it! But they won't

I agree, if they were going to go this way they should have made them brother and sister from the start. But they didn't for a reason. So they should have continued with Arthur and Morgana!

Okay guys I found the issue online and saw the wishlist, not one single ArMor mention But there's a couple mentions of people wanting Morgana to go evil Sometimes I wonder about the intelligence level of our fanbase
