As many of you may know Winter Storm Nico hammered the Northeast Thursday including New York City, Long Island, Philadelphia. Cape Cod and BOSTON

I had to cancel a train trip to NYC Thursday morning for a meeting that had been scheduled for later that day.

We got about 10-12 inches of snow at home near Albany in upstate New York.

We were watching The Weather Channel that evening and they had a live shot of a few people trudging through the snow on Boylston Street in Boston. The camera panned up the street and just before they cut back to the studio there was a quick glimpse of a kiosk in Copley Square and right in the middle was the Cabaret poster with Randy prominently featured.

I checked the Boston Opera House website and the show went on as scheduled despite the weather.

A friend of mine from the NYC area attended that night. She took the train in to Boston that morning before the weather got too bad.

She said there was a crowd of only about 500-600 at the performance but they were very enthusiastic.

She also reported that Randy mentioned the weather during his opening Wilkkommen number. He changed the line 'cold outside but hot in there,' to "Blizzard outside," which got such a big laugh.

Later when he interacted with the audience and was talking to the "poor people in the cheap seats," he remarked that they should come downstairs to all "empty seats from the those cowards who were afraid of a little snow!"

She got to say hello to him after the show. (She is a loyal follower and he always gives her a big greeting)

She is going again tonight.

Thanks for posting that link, Chris. The article was wonderful.

Mark…I think it's fantastic that the show went on despite the blizzard and that many people showed up. We had a similar thing happen at a BoM show I went to, but I think it was Super Bowl Sunday. The ushers had everyone move up though.

You're welcome. I love how he talked about Toronto. You can tell he loves it there. I especially liked when he said his favorite record store is still there and he's looking forward to going. Wonder if he's feeling nostalgic? lol
