That's a good strategy. I was just hoping SOMEONE would care. But still, amaaaaaazing article.

I love hearing new insights people have for the show. These articles are refreshing to have.

:bump:

These events are always out of my reach to be honest. But I hope whoever gets to go has a memorable, fun time. :)

I know, right? I've seen these go for 10K in the auction. Usually it's the same person who wins every year. I guess it pays to be rich. :sigh:

"There's nothing noble about being poor." Sorry, just came from the survivor thread. ;)

Even though I wouldn't bid on an event like that ESPECIALLY without knowing for sure who would be there from the cast (ummm, if it was Gale and Scott . . . shut up and take my money  . . . except no way could I do like 10K, ha), it makes me SUPER happy to see that there are still events going on AT ALL.  After browsing all those old con threads, I was really hoping things would keep happening. So, I think that's awesome. :)

10k??

SojournHeart11 12-14-2018 05:40 AM

Nevermind 10k... I'll give 'em $10. Yes, I'm cheap.

daggerrose 12-14-2018 06:57 AM

Yeah unfortunately, the same people win those things sigh. But that's insane, 10k.

I remember a Stargate convention were they auctioned off a visit to the set with watching them work for a day. and I really mean just the visit. no flight, no hotel, nothing.. and a girl bid 12k for that, not even knowing how to get that money  some people are just going nuts over things like that without thinking about the consequences

It just seems messed up to me to bid/pay lots of money to have dinner with people. I understand this is a special case, cause the money is going to charity, but still. These actors have to be paid to spend time with you. Buying time and attention just seems whack.

That being said, I'm sure there will be some interesting conversation, especially if Scott goes.

I totally agree, and I'm glad they are making things like that for charities. I'm just sorry for people like that girl, who lose every reality and make debts for going to them. I would never do that.. :look:

The person who usually wins is apparently very wealthy. You'd never know it though.

I paid for VIP with Scott and Dean...it was worth every penny!

I didn't intend to talk s:censored: about paying for VIP or other experiences. This particular setup just seems weird to me.

I paid a lot for VH1's Best Cruise Ever (with Lifehouse) once, but that was several days and lots of concerts and interactions. Totally worth it. One night doesn't stack up for me.

Come to think of it, the person I was seeing at that point threatened to break up with me if I spent all that money on the cruise. So I was like, " Okay, bye!"

Okay, that's funny. Definitely something I would have done, too, provided the desire to go on had been strong enough. You were willing to risk it all. :D

But these events are seriously pricey. The good thing is that we have the Binge Club now. :)

"Sometimes you have to, for what you believe in." ;) But yes, damn straight I was.

I'd love another Binge Club... :sigh:
