maybe they thought that there is too much at stake here? I mean things were already complicated enough,esp with Micheal and the whole baby drama,and I guess they knew Brian would have something to say about it too,even though he had no legal parental rights himself...

But the baby drama started after Michael found out they had been lying to him for a while. I think that drama would have never started if the girls had been honest since the beginning.

sorry, I messed up the time line here
 you're right,Manu, it would have made a big difference it they told people about it sooner.maybe they were just not ready to accept it themselves? (even though they were always fighting,so it was inevitable that they would break up,imo. ) __________________

Whatever the reason, it was a very stupid thing to do. Not to mention unfair towards Michael. Brian knew because of Lindsay, fortunately. I think it was their right to know, since they were the fathers of the kids.

 I think what ever Mel had against Lindsay,there was a baby involved here,and since Michael didn't give up his parental rights Mel should have at least told him that she's seperating from Lindsay.__________________

I think both fathers deserved to know, but technically especially Michael, since he still had rights to JR. It was such a childish thing to keep everything hidden. I can't really understand the reason why. Did they mention why they were doing it? I might have forgotten.__________________

I think that was pbbly why they didn't come forward and told their friends,especily Michael, that they are separating. I think Lindsay was really hurt and disappinted that her realtionship (and marriage ) to Mel reached a dead end at that point.

and Lindsay let her because she felt guilty for cheating but even then it gave Mel no right to treat her the way she did, I mean when Mel cheated on Lindsay, Lindsay didn't treat her like that. I think what hurt Mel the most was that Linds cheated on her with a guy.
