I was just thinking about it. I don't know how long there were apart this time, but it seems to be longer than the first breakup somehow.maybe it's because this time Brian wasn't looking for reasons to be around Justin all the time,as he was in S3. in fact I think he wasn't sure they would get back together after the second breakup,and even though he obviously missed Justin he was too cought up in his own emotional problems to deal with his relationship with him at that point

I don't know, personally I've always felt it's less time than the first breakup, but it's just speculations because we weren't actually told anything on the show.

um, I don't know how much time they were apart,but it looks as if it was longer this time because they barely saw each other, and even if they did they kept their distance

I can understand why they tried to keep some distance: I think it hurt too much to see each other. Justin think about those 2 scenes in the streets, there's so much longing and pain there.

I think that's what makes it even more hurtful. In S2 Justin felt like Brian didn't love him enough or at all, in S5 they both knew where they stood with their feelings, so it was worse because the breakup wasn't about doubting those feelings, but about believing they could not work together in the long run.
