I remember him talking (somewhere) about how he had to learn to light a match with his left hand for that scene.

Deborah Okay, that scene is iconic. I'm still so pissed his screen time in TSC was so limited. Actors should never land the role of playing someone's parent, namely on the CW, because you hardly ever get to see them thereafter.
 He should have played the cool and happening older brother, or slightly more sophisticated uncle at best. But parent? __________________

Denise: Gale had more screen time in TSC than he did in H.C. or most of the other shows…I thought. And you're right about the CW shows. The adults were only side characters often heard about, but not seen.
