what did he have?

galesgirl645 09-16-2010 10:50 PM

Brian just couldn't resist Justin

WildRose 09-16-2010 11:10 PM

I agree with you,Claudia.

Justin obviously affected Brian from the begining in more ways than one. I think it was a blend of everything we talked about before, his youth and beauty, his innocence, presistance, sweetness yet determination that was so irresistble to Brian.

I know it was too early to say he was falling for him so soon, but the fact he left a trick alone and went after Justin in 102 speeks volumes,IMO.

i want manu to answer this before i respond...

WildRose 09-16-2010 11:33 PM

fair enough,Lexi ;)

i never learn 09-16-2010 11:58 PM

i have a totally different answer, lol. has nothing to do with sexual attraction or even emotion either... well a little with emotion, but nothing romantic.

WildRose 09-17-2010 12:09 AM

I think it wasn't just about sexual attraction that first night he saw him on Liberty Ave.and as for romantic/emotional feelings of any kind, well, I don't think Brian even knew what that meant, because he never exprienced any of that plus he was hiding behind the "I don't belive in love" mantra for so many years.

but there was obviously something there...

Probably a mix of many things. But mostly, I think what really drew Brian to him like that and made him let him in in the very beginning, is the fact Justin was innocent and pure, in the sense that he still believed in goodness and knew nothing about the ugly side of life. He was a believer and he was a bit, well very actually, naive. I think Brian felt protective of Justin, even though he went on an on about him not being his responsability. And still, he was always there when Justin needed something.

I'm curious to know what you think instead :)

justin had something alright. Something that to brian(with all the guys he had) stood out. And it wasn't just hat he was young. B/c that something extra was still there when brian had had him. It's was like fine he isn't 18, who cares.

Actually he wouldn't have done that if the trick wouldn't have asked him to do it. Brian was about to close the loftdoor, George told him he should follow Justin. So... it's not really Brian who deserves the credit here.

WildRose 09-17-2010 05:07 AM

I think Brian dererve some credit, because he went to speak to Justin after all. I agree with Manu that Brian was fascinated by Justin's inncocence. he wasn't yet spoiled,he was still fresh ,sort of speak, and that obviously appealed to Brian who was around for a long time and was getting bored (not just sexuily ).
I love that there's a certian softness to Brian's voice as he explain to Justin his "I don't belive in love" philisopy. I think Justin evoked some hidden feeling inside him that he wasn't able to deny ever since that first night.

Manu9 09-17-2010 09:22 AM

I don't know how to put in words my thoughts  I think Brian is damaged and very cynical and he expects the worst from life because that's what life has taught him. When Justin comes into his life, he's so different! He's positive, he believes in good things, he's innocent, he's good. I think more than curious about all that, Brian was a bit... touched? Like, he has to be honest with Justin and ruin the dreams he's already making about love and relationships, after just one night. But at the same time, I think he doesn't like it. I think he would like to be still like Justin, to have that belief and those positive eyes Justin has.

mylu 09-17-2010 09:41 AM

that is why i think they work so well.
brian think the world is worse then it acully is, justin think it's better. If you mix those views on life maybe you will find how it really is.

WildRose 09-17-2010 10:00 AM

I think Brian was definitely touched by Justin  I guess that's the best way to put it. he was drawn to Justin because he felt different with him. it wasn't like anything he's experienced before. I think that's why he took him to see Gus the night he was born and also the reason for him going after Justin to explain his theory.

i agree with this, actually. i mean, their first meeting was obviously based on physical attraction, yet right after they had sex for the first time, brian was already revealing things about himself to justin that even made michael stop cold in his tracks. it's exactly what you said though, brian felt protective of justin, yet i honestly still can't peg what initially drew brian in. maybe it just sort of happened. lol. no explanation, just was.

what i was going to say was brian liked re-experiencing youth through justin, but i think that makes him sound manipulative, which brian was, but that only lasted so long anyway. truthfully, i think more than anything, they built quite a nice friendship between them in season one.

nor do i. brian was definitely talked into going downstairs, which is unfortunate, but they had to progress the drama in someway or you'd automatically think there was no resistance there.
