Melissa for some reason I feel it was something with Arrowverse he didn't care for... I'm assuming probably it was something behind the scenes?? It seems like a pattern with people leaving these Arrowverse shows in not the best light. I can't confirm that but I always assumed Wentworth was through with Arrowverse but not acting since he still wants to bring PB back...

So, I don't know, probably the filming location? or??? I do wonder why because he did admitted he enjoyed portraying Captain Cold a little more than Scofield. lol But I believe he'll love to return to PB before Legends/Flash... so it's interesting.

The only season he didn't make an appearance was last season though. He was in Season 1-3. He wouldn't have really fit with Season 4's storyline much anyway. They barely used the characters they did have. I think for most actors it's the Vancouver location. If they are only guest starring it takes them away from LA where they can keep auditioning.

Even before season 4 though, he pretty much seemed to really want out after season 1. That's why I always assumed he didn't ever want to stick around for a long period which I was proven correctly by when he of course announced last year as his last for the Arrowverse.

I just figure he wants to try something different. He's an actor that likes to play many different roles and not get stuck with one. Like Victor Garber. It's good to have an iconic role that will be remembered forever but the downside is they may never be able to move past that one role. You can just look at the Friends actors or Sarah Michelle Geller. People only see their iconic character and they struggle to find other roles.

Victor Garber has a few roles people remember him from, Titanic, Alias and now Flash/LoT. I think Wentworth wants that kind of career.

^ I would agree with you there if he wasn't always willing to return to portray Michael Scofield on Prison Break.

That's what Wentworth is most known for! We all know that he and Wentworth wants to do another season of Prison Break as well.

I do like him trying a different role right now though... I can't wait to see how his character will be.

Yeah, I agree. Wentworth already has Prison Break on his resume, and now he'll have Captain Cold.

I don't see why he'd think he'd get typecast. But he hasn't really done anything lately, so maybe he just wants a break from acting entirely?
