It was the beginning of 4x22 she's breaking down at the mansion and he just holds her - alright not a hug but still a great scene

Right as Isobel left her body and she became herself the comforting "hug" was back at the mansion though

I can say though that Lex/Lana are my least favorite pairing of the series HOWEVER, this time around, I don't mind them as much.

Currently on a re-watch. I honestly did love them once before, but...boy did a certain thing happen down the line that kinda shook my shipping them. Lexmas was always my favorite version of them though.

Happy you are rewatching, who knows, one day you might can join in the live board re-watch.

Also we just finished watching Lexmas, one of their best episodes.
And a certain choice that it made showed how much Lex loved Lana... won't say until Sarah sees it because I actually believe she will definitely agree with me on it.

It was a huge episode for them though.

Sadly, I know that thing you are talking about. Smallville writer sure found ways to ruin anything.
