“YBR” is Cassidy Freeman’s first swing at Executive Producing, along with her brother Clark Freeman, how it worked out for this film?
Jesse Holland: In addition to being colleagues with Clark and Cassidy, we’re also friends with them, and go back with them all the way to Middlebury. They knew of this script we were developing, they knew we were looking for investments. Before either could vaguely approach either, Clark sug- gested that it would be amazing if he and Cass were able to play that actual brother/sister roles in the movie. It clicked in our heads immediately, and that’s when the discussions really began.

How was it working with Cassidy Freeman?
Jesse Holland: It was more than helpful, it was necessary. I mean as an actress she’s amazing and could deliver everything we needed with professionalism - which we expected. What we maybe didn’t expect is that as Executive Producer she would be so good at facilitating communication between departments that don’t always know how to talk to each other. For both us and the other actors, her professional- ism was like gold. For the actors, how performing in front of a camera is different than on stage. For us, film school 101 stuff that we just devoured. “Guys, you know it takes like 5 minutes to swap a lens and 30 minutes to move the camera - you should maybe swap a lens here?” Stuff like that was invaluable.

I had no idea she knew so much about the technicalities of filming Makes me love her even more.

Hmm I wonder if she'd ever have any interest in directing an ep of SV, since she knows so much about the technicalities of filming.

She may have I'd love it if she got to direct an episode, I always like seeing actors work as directors to see their vision.

Yep! I'll be interested to hear what her story arc will be like in S9 and what other tidbits they'll give us about her character.
