Right before going to Diagon Alley, letters have to be selected in the correct order to get the shopping list. The list is under a bowl that then moves once the letters are selected in the correct order to reveal the list.

I'm not sure if it matters where you hold it? But if you click the mouse and hold it for a few seconds that should get the gnomes over the wall.

I never timed mine but that would make sense - my problem was I'd let go at the wrong time and they'd fly backwards or straight into the ground. If they swing the same way / speed every time (which I'm sure they do) figuring out an exact length of time would be a great way to know exactly when to let go. I wish I had realized that while I was doing it

It was my sister who managed to get me beyond the gnome part. She didn't do the counting thing, but somehow she got the hang of it. It was after she got me past that round that I went back and was randomly counting in my head when I discovered the "magic" number.
