Yeah, Dudley is really a character that is easy to dislike. I don't like reading the early chapters of the books knowing that Harry is with the Dursleys because they always give him hell.

I blame it also on Petunia as she probably asked her husband and son to hate Harry since she's had a rift with Lily ever since she found out Lily can do magic.

Petunia wanted to learn magic too and she wasn't very good at it and Lily was. That started the jealousy.

Ahh, thanks.. I felt bad for her even tho I know that being jealousy can be sticky, but resent her and hate her for rest of life.. tsk..

Yeah I mean if you're not good at it, then accept it. Not everyone can be good at magic. There's no need to be jealous of your own sister.

I think I can equate it to me & my sister. My sister (the middle child) when we were still studying is the smartest one. I was the average sister. She would get praised and I would get scolded to the point that I would get so scared if my grades are average. I didn't get jealous of my sister but I was more scared of how my parents would react and so to counter that, I got into sports which I excelled in and my sister was terrible at.
