I think so, yes. He never met his parents and lost them too early in life so he wants justice for their death.

There's Dumbldore and Hagrid and McGonagall who was there the night his parents died. So they have stories to tell him definitely. This was before Sirius escaped from Azkaban and Remus became a teacher at Hogwarts.

Snape could have told him a lot about James & Lily too but we all know he's not the type to talk to Harry about his parents.

And he wasn't close to James, just Lily so he could have told Harry stories about her but that would also spoil a big plot from the later books.
