I haven't seen an ep. Tbh, I'm not planning on watching it just cause I am not familiar with Star Trek so I feel like I might get lost in the terms or any shout-out they might do on the show which I won't understand?

I remember that my brothers encourage me to watch it, but I found out that they did Star Trek TV series w/ Patrick and other famous actors/actresses that I know, but I don't understand why they reboot this??

I think there's an interest for a reboot from ST fans in general plus the show hasn't been on TV for years. We only have the movies now.
