No that was "Eh Joe". This is a Harold Pinter play. You can see a video of Michael and David paying tribute to Pinter at the first performance of "No Man's Land" after Pinter's death here along with an article.

It was the first Pinter play to be performed since his death from cancer. After a sell-out at the Duke of York theatre, actor David Bradley told the audience the world had lost "one of the greatest literary figures of all time". Sir Michael Gambon also read a passage from the play which Pinter had asked him to read out at his funeral. He performed the speech to a silent audience, many of whom wept as he read aloud. The excerpt concluded: "And so I say to you, tender the dead as you would yourself be tendered, now, in what you would describe as your life."

I'm looking forward to the DH scenes with Snape & Dumbledore -- they better not skip any of the important flashbacks: Snape/Lily, Snape/Dumbledore, Lily/Petunia. The tower scene should be really powerful with AR & MG!

So many fans take Gambon for granted. He's a much more spirtited actor than Richard Harris ever once at this age. Given the fact Harris was very ill by the time he was casted in 2000.

To be fair, I liked RH as Dumbledore in SS and CoS ... I felt that he played the serenity of Dumbledore in those movies well, and made him appear quietly wise. He was given such a small amount in those first two movies ... it's really a shame.

Gambon had a lot to live up to because with each film/book, Dumbledore becomes more complex, with increasing importance to the overall plots and twists of the story. But he played (and still does) Dumbledore well ... I just don't feel comfortable saying one was better than the other. They both did well with the screenplay versions they were given, IMO.

Credit to the portrayal of Dumbledore has to be given to Steve Kloves and Mike Goldenburg who wrote the character for the screen.

Reuters has today announced that Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) has been cast in Book of Eli, a sci-fi action thriller being produced by Warner Brothers. Gary Oldman (Sirius) joined the cast list back in October. Oldman plays one half of an eccentric couple battling to preserve old traditions in a new-future, dystopian America. The film will be a post-apocalyptic Western, in which a lone man fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. Filming begins this month in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the movie is scheduled to be released January 15th 2010.
