it was just over a year ago I braved my first aerial class and it immediately felt like a piece that has always been missing from my life! I didn’t think circus was an option for regular folk, I thought you had to be extravagantly talented or born into it but the circus community is one of the most warm, welcoming, encouraging communities of any of the arts that I’ve experienced, I think because it is so difficult at first that everyone finds it humbling and that experience fosters compassion. I’ve also found there is less of a focus on aesthetic perfection than dance and other movement based arts, which is so freeing for one’s creativity. I plan my life around aerial classes now and have zero regrets!! Thank you so much @maisiewhitehead and @katherinehardwick for sharing your amazing skills so generously and for being such kind, positive, patient teachers!! So lucky to learn from such incredible artists. The song is “Easily” by Grimes #aerialhoop #everydayaerialist
