I grew up with parents who hate them so my instinct is to shoo them away. I'm much better now though but don't expect me to play with cats when I see one.  __________________

I'm Asian too, so I understand. My parents are the same.
It's not much like that in Asia now though. I've seen a lot of youngins with pets there. But my parents still don't like dogs or cats or furry things that move.__________________

Yeah all my friends are either dog or cat lovers, except me. I get a lot of shocked reactions when I mention I'm not fond of cats which is understandable.
