The ex-fiance looks a bit like Queenie, the hairstyle I mean. I wonder why they cut it. Jacob did mention it in the movie that he was dumped right?

Without knowing Jacob's background, I get the impression that he was a single man just applying for a bank loan. But I didn't know until after I've seen the movie, that it was triggered by an ex-fiance.
