I have a Hufflepuff lanyard I got last year (2014) in London. Only two people got what it was about, and one of them was like... Hufflepuff? Why not Gryffindor? and I'm like... Well, I did get sorted into Hufflepuff on Pottermore.

I know! I think Hufflepuff brought about some wonderful witches and wizards.

It's annoying how people only think of Gryffindor.

I know. I'm gonna always defend them because they're my house but I just don't understand all the animosity towards that house. Whatever we read in the books, we just accepted it. I kind of felt that because there was more stories about Slytherin than Hufflepuff, everyone else forgot that most Death Eaters came from that house. Personally I think not all Slytherins are evil and maybe some of them are good to Muggles but it's just that they can't show that since they are in the 'pureblood house'. So envious you got a lanyard though!

Harry and the rest of his friends are in Gryffindor so I can understand why we know more about the house than the others. But just how they are perceived in the books, how JKR wrote them, is the thing that bothered me.

It bothers me that Hufflepuff is the "throwaway house" for witches and wizards that "don't belong" in Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin.
