I don't know why I know most of them. I think it's because I watch a lot British telly.

Me too, I've gotten into more British TV over the last several years. The seasons are shorter but that just means the quality is higher.

Kelly Reilly was Mary Watson in the Robert Downey, Jr. Sherlock Holmes movies, and a Laurence Olivier Award-nominated stage actress. Asa Butterfield was The Boy In The Striped Pajamas, Ender in the recent Ender's Game adaptation, and was my choice for Artemis Fowl if that film had been made. Oscar Isaac is the one American I picked, he's such an amazing actor and he can do accents. He was Prince John in Russell Crowe's Robin Hood, Poe Dameron in Star Wars Episode VII, Apocalypse in the latest X-Men, and has won awards for a variety of film and TV roles. I wish I could've thought of someone to play Narcissa. Natalie Dormer would be amazing, but she doesn't really look like she could be Eva Green's sister. Quote:

I like to think Frank and Alice Longbottom would've been like mentors to the younger and less experienced James and Lily, as well as Sirius and Remus. We could see the Potters' wedding, cameos from baby Neville, Ron, and Ginny, and toddler Fred and George. __________________

Thanks. It figures why I don't know them. I haven't seen any of their projects.
Harry Lloyd is always so good playing evil characters. I would love for us to have a Marauders movie or even a TV series. That part of the HP world has so many things to explore. __________________

After watching her in Penny Dreadful, I can see it too.

Now that I think of it, Warren Brown from Luther could be a good Regulus, he looks way more like Dominic Cooper anyway. (Edit: Then again, he's three weeks older than him. Well, crazier castings have happened. ) A TV series could be cool. I hadn't thought of that. __________________

I am on-board with Billie as Bellatrix too.
I saw on Tumblr that they like Katie McGrath as Bellatrix and Keira Knightley as Narcissa Malfoy. I think I read somewhere that Jo was asked if there's a possibility of her making a TV version of anything HP and I think she shot down that idea though. __________________

In an earlier version of my fancast I thought of Katie McGrath and Faye Marsay as Bella and Cissy.
I guess a show would be way more work, with numerous opportunities for Jo and showrunners/writers/execs to have clash over storylines, character development, etc. Especially since they'd be coming up with new stuff, rather than simply adapting published material that they already know works with audiences. __________________

Oooohhh, I can totally get on-board Katie & Faye as Bellatrix & Narcissa.
Yeah and it's always tricky when they go a different route that isn't the movies. Not all fans like that. I know there was some backliash over the play as well as Fantastic Beasts because some fans are so attached to the HP world, which is understandable. __________________

Looks like we can continue on to a new discussion. I'll think of a new one but won't be able to get to it until this weekend (when I get more online time). Unless you already have one in mind, Paula?

Thanks for the bump! Any discussion topic in mind? This thread used to be active but there aren't a lot of posters so it's understandable that it will get buried eventually.

That makes sense. How about we discuss something about the characters' (minus the trio and Ginny) careers after Hogwarts? There doesn't seem to be very many career options in the Wizarding world given what we know.

Sure, do you have a question in mind so I can change the thread title?

"They're out of Hogwarts, what do the characters do with their lives now?"
How is that? |
