Yeah he had an unhappy childhood and has not been able to conjure a Patronus even when he was at Hogwarts.

For practice. He did finally get a Snitch for himself in DH, the one Dumbledore gave him.

I can't imagine what Harry would use the Snitch for in real life but in DH that object did help him to find more of the Horcruxes Voldemort hid.

He was holding and staring at it and then he kissed it and it opened and then an idea came to him on where to find a Horcrux I think. My memory of that part is very hazy.

I forgot what he actually remembered after seeing the Snitch but at least he was able to find a Hrocrux thanks to that magical object.
