I don't know why Dumbledore was friends with him during their early years, maybe Grindelwald was a good person before?

It wasn't fully explained in the books how she died. Just that Grindelwald killed her. Some are speculating Albus accidentally killed her.

There's a lot of speculation about what really happened that time and that's why I was hoping one of the FBAWTFT movies would explain this.
