That's why I think Dumbledore felt some guilt but he didn't dwell on it too much and instead helped take him down when it mattered. Only he got killed in the process.

I'm sure Dumbledore felt guilty feelings and that's probably why he was also hell bent on defeating Voldemort.

And I also think if he needs to die to be the catalyst for everyone to kill Voldemort, then so be it. That's probably why death was something he also expected for himself eventually.

If I was Dumbledore I guess I should prepare for that too. He's been through Grindelwald and Voldemort so he has seen a lot of the dark side of magic.

You can't really prepare for death because we don't know when it'll happen and he wasn't sick so his death was also unexpected.
